In the 19th century, trousers went from the simple leg coverings of farmers to the proper evening wear of the aristocracy. This is our full-size paper pattern with complete instructions and historical notes for men’s trousers circa 1830-1900 based on extant examples and period talior’s manuals. Pattern includes the early version’s instep strap and the later shaped bottoms. Fits waists 28″-50″ (70-125 cm) . All sizes included in one envelope. Embellishment suggestions included.

wool, heavyweight silk
lightweight silk or linen for lining

Yardage Requirements:
outer material & interlining: 3 yds at least 60″ wide (3 meter 150 cm wide)
lining: 3 yds at least 60″ wide (3 meter 150 cm wide)
